Responsibilities

GEN serves as a bridging point with the WEA for existing evangelism-focused movements and organizations. It will represent the WEA in the constellation of evangelistic associations and networks; convene leadership roundtables, forums, conferences and other gatherings to cross- pollinate ideas, practices, and collaborative opportunities; and conduct research into evangelistic practice in our contemporary global context. All to affirm a Biblically authentic theology of evangelism and contribute toward more effective world evangelization.

1. Research — to discern the times and know what God’s people should do (1 Chronicles 12:32). We aim to do this via multiple research projects, both macro (large scale quantitative surveying) and micro (regionally based qualitative conversations).

2. Relate — to nurture trust between diverse ministries and networks (with special emphasis on strengthening National Evangelical Alliances and sibling missions alliances), and convene consultations to promote collaborative commitments towards “multiplying effective gospel witness in all the earth”.

3. Recommend — to partner with resource providers who share common value and commitments towards our goal, and promote their resources to believers at the ‘grassroots’ for culturally appropriate use. These may include (but not limited to) translated Bibles (written and oral), gospel sharing tools, biblical/theological education, leadership development processes, practical ministry training (in justice, peace, reconciliation, evangelistic pastoral care and trauma counselling, community health and evangelism, business as witness, good governance practice, etc.).
